Made from soft, dark brown lamb leather sourced from France and rich mahogany calf leather, this piece feels as luxurious as it looks. This particular jacket was made for my older sister, a successful artist on the west coast. Her love for leather and her appreciation of her Ukrainian heritage inspired the design. To make it even more special, the intricate embroidery on the back yoke—a stunning Ukrainian cross-stitch pattern—was done entirely by hand by our mother.

  

 

These cross-stitch patterns, steeped in centuries of tradition, are more than decorative; they’re a nod to our shared heritage and an expression of cultural pride.
